South Carolina Football: Welcome Home Tour details announced
By Kevin Miller
Since becoming the head coach for the South Carolina football program, Shane Beamer has gone on his “Welcome Home Tour” in conjunction with the Gamecock Club to promote the football team and interact with the fanbase. Typically a Welcome Home event includes interactions with Beamer, conversations with some other football staffers, updates on the program, question-and-answer sessions similar to “Carolina Calls” (just in person), autograph opportunities, and lots of picture-taking. Food and drinks are part of the experience and are built into the ticket costs.
Fans are excited in Gamecock Nation as the Gamecocks finished the 2022 season on a high note, knocking playoff hopefuls Tennessee and Clemson from their postseason dreams in the regular season’s final two games. The two most important players on offense in those games were Spencer Rattler and Juice Wells, and both players elected to forgo the NFL Draft and return to South Carolina for another season. Also, long-embattled Offensive Coordinator Marcus Satterfield has been replaced with the high-energy Dowell Loggains.
Gamecock fans will take any opportunity to show their support and their hopefulness for the 2023 season, and the Welcome Home Tour should be no exception.
Earlier this week, the University of South Carolina officially announced six stops on the 2023 Welcome Home Tour. The stops are all in May with five happening in-state. Tickets are available now and vary in price depending on the location of the event. The announced stops and their dates are:
Wednesday, May 3rd in Charlotte, North Carolina
