They will play Norfolk State on Friday in the first round at home at Colonial Life Arena. TV and schedule information will be announced later.
Clemson was left out of the men’s NCAA Tournament.
South Carolina basketball knocked off the Tigers in the annual rivalry game. If the Tigers would have won that game, they probably would have been in the NCAA Tournament. In a disappointing season on the court for Carolina, Gamecock fans can experience a bit of solace in knowing they helped keep the Tigers from dancing.
An in-state four-star announced the Gamecocks as a finalist.
Over the weekend, the South Carolina football program was announced as a finalist for the services of four-star safety Kelvin Hunter. Hunter attends West Florence High School and is considered a heavy lean to South Carolina. He is a 2024 recruit and would be the class’ sixth blue chip prospect if he were to be the next commitment.
South Carolina baseball swept another out-of-conference opponent.
Heading into SEC play, South Carolina baseball is now 16-1 after a sweep of Bethune-Cookman. The Gamecocks outscored the Wildcats 38-11. USC will take travel to Athens to take on the Georgia Bulldogs next weekend.
The softball team lost.
In a rare occurrence, the Gamecock softball team lost this weekend. In a series that had two games moved to Monday, LSU beat South Carolina 9-1. The Monday contests will be played in a double-header that begins at 4:00.
