The South Carolina basketball team is in the midst of a historic season. They are undefeated at 32-0, having swept both the SEC’s regular season and tournament championships. The Gamecocks are six wins away from becoming just the fifth program ever to go undefeated and the fourth ever to win back-to-back titles. Individually, Aliyah Boston continues to rack up awards, and some of her teammates have their hard work rewarded with postseason hardware.

The Gamecocks also continue to dominate the women’s college basketball attendance standings as they have led the nation in average attendance for eight straight seasons. Though not a game, another high-attendance event will take place on Sunday, March 12th: FAMdemonium.

If that date sounds familiar, that’s because it is Selection Sunday for the men’s and women’s NCAA Tournaments. While there will not be much anxiety over where South Carolina will be selected, the clear top-seeded Gamecocks are sure to be heavily featured during the broadcast on ESPN. Because of this, the University of South Carolina is putting on a free event at Colonial Life Arena called FAMdemonium.

The Gamecocks faithful are referred to by Dawn Staley as “the Fams,” an obvious nod to the family environment present around her program. FAMdemonium will be a chance for the Fams and the players to spend time together, take pictures, eat dinner, and watch the Selection Sunday show. Parking will be free around the arena. Food trucks will be set up outside of CLA and will open at 6:00. At 7:15, fans are invited to sit in CLA while the team is introduced and celebrated, local artist Jared Emerson will perform at 7:30, and the show will begin at 8:00.

For those who are unable to make it out to FAMdemonium, ESPN and the ESPN App will be broadcasting the women’s NCAA Tournament selection show at 8:00.
