The South Carolina football team has received a ton of good news in regard to returning players for the 2022 season. Just this week, defenders Brad Johnson, RJ Roderick, and Zacch Pickens all announced their intentions to come back to Columbia for one final year as they continue to lay the foundation under coach Shane Beamer.

Now, it looks like another important piece will be joining them in on the field for one last go-round.

On3 Sports reported tonight that wide receiver Josh Vann is expected to return for the Gamecocks next season.

Vann was the team’s top receiving threat last year, hauling in a team high 43 catches for 679 yards and six touchdowns. Those three marks were also career bests, outmatching the production that he’d totaled in his previous three seasons combined.

Vann tallied three 100-yard games, including in SEC contests versus Georgia and Florida. He notched touchdown receptions in three of his last four games played.

After that game against the Gators, where he finished with 111 yards and a score, the Gamecock media team had some fun by releasing a hilarious video of the touchdown catch. In the social media post, we were able to see all of the things that Vann could’ve done on a play where there wasn’t a defender within 10 yards.

Check it out below.

Should Vann return, it would give the offense a major boost. An official announcement from the pass catcher is likely to come soon.
