The South Carolina football team is looking to end its current one-game losing streak and get back in the win column this weekend. The Gamecocks will have a chance to land their first SEC win of the year when they face off against the Kentucky Wildcats, and they could benefit from having the best home field advantage in all of college football.

Head coach Shane Beamer took to the press earlier this week to express the team’s need to have fans in the stands when battling a very good Wildcat team. Those Wildcats have been able to take down the Gamecocks in six of the last seven meetings, and currently sit as a five-point favorites despite having to travel to Columbia.

A rowdy Williams-Brice Stadium could make things a little bit more difficult on Mark Stoops’ bunch.

Beamer said he wants the crowd so loud that the noise level “tears a hole in the masks” of attendees. The Gamecock faithful will certainly be out and about following a 2-1 start and their first chance to see the 2021 team take on an SEC foe in its friendly confines.

Coach Beamer isn’t the only one anticipating a raucous crowd this Saturday night, though. Big Game Boomer, a social media account that creates weekly lists and rankings surrounding college football programs, believes that Williams-Brice Stadium will create the best home field advantage of any venue in the country this week.

The Gamecocks have one of the loudest stadiums in the nation year in and year out, and you can bet that the fans will come out in droves to see their team take on a league foe for the first time in Columbia. The home opener for the 2021 season was against Eastern Illinois, and not to take anything away from the Panthers, they were not the draw that Kentucky will be.

Kentucky enters the game at 3-0, having already picked up an SEC win over Missouri. It will be the Wildcats’ first game away from home, meaning the crowd noise will be something they’ve yet to deal with this year.

Living up to this ranking could create a hostile environment for Kentucky and help the Gamecocks escape with a huge win in what is expected to be a close contest. Per coach Beamer’s request, we need to see all hands on deck for this matchup and prove, once again, that the Gamecocks have the best home field advantage in all of college football.
