The South Carolina football team kicks off its 2021 season with a September 4th matchup against Eastern Illinois under the lights of Williams-Brice Stadium. Though expectations aren’t high heading into Shane Beamer’s inaugural year roaming the sidelines in Columbia, the excitement around the program has never been higher.

At least that’s what the recent ticket sales are saying.

The program set a record for new ticket purchases this offseason, and seems that fans are eager to see how Beamer can lead the team back to glory. His positivity heading into the season has supporters excited to see the squad in action.

South Carolina football sets season ticket sales record

The athletic department has reported that nearly 8,500 new season ticket sales have been made for the 2021 campaign, and it’s not done yet. South Carolina is pushing to get that number up over 9,000 before opening kick.

Shane Beamer, in just eight short months, has been able to completely change the outlook of a fanbase that was beaten down by the Will Muschamp era. He’s offered a enthusiastic and refreshing perspective that’s been missing in Columbia for nearly a decade.

It’s shown both in fan support and on the recruiting trail, where the Gamecocks have been able to land the commitments of 16 high school prospects. The newest class of South Carolina football players currently ranks as a top 20 class, and Beamer certainly isn’t finished yet having a number of highly rated players in his crosshairs.

Beamer has replace the ‘gloom and doom’ outlook that many Gamecocks fans have grown accustomed to, and finally has supporters looking forward to the future of the program. Hopefully that future will shine bright.
