South Carolina football: Ryan Brubaker to commit on July 4
By Jacob Elsey
South Carolina football is after this highly touted OL.
New offensive line coach Greg Adkins has been hard at work on the recruiting trail in Columbia, already securing the commitments of two talented prospects, Grayson Mains and Cason Henry. Mains has been in the boat for a while, making his pledge to the Gamecocks back on the first of April. Henry, on the other hand, made a commitment during his official visit last weekend. Both are considered three-star players with high upside, but coach Adkins isn’t ready to close out the class quite yet.
The Gamecocks have had four-star lineman Ryan Brubaker high on their target list all offseason, and on July 4th, they’ll find out if their hard work has paid off.

Brubaker is a top 200 player according to Rivals, and is rated as the 18th-best offensive line prospect in the class of ’22. He’s also the fifth-best player in the state of Pennsylvania, but South Carolina will have to hold off the hometown Penn State Nittany Lions to land his services.
Also high on the big man’s list are Vanderbilt, Stanford, and Tennessee. He’s now taken official visits to each of his five finalists.
Receiving a commitment from Brubaker would help solidify a fantastic offensive line haul in coach Adkins’ first recruiting cycle. Bringing in a productive group is imperative with the roster set to lose a handful of players along the front five over the next two seasons. It would also give the Gamecocks’ class a boost into the top 30 in terms of the national rankings.
We’ll continue to follow Brubaker’s recruitment throughout the weekend. Hopefully, the Gamecocks can come out on top in what appears to be a very tight race.
