Music City and Texas Bowls – < 50% CHANCE

Music City Bowl

Dec. 30, 2021

Nashville, TN at Nissan Stadium

The Music City Bowl is another SEC versus Big 10 or ACC showdown played in the home of the Tennessee Titans. South Carolina has never been invited to play in the event, and it likely won’t happen in 2021. Being played in Nashville, the matchup often features teams closer to home, like Kentucky or Tennessee to represent the league. South Carolina is typically more appealing to the Florida sites, which is why they’ve had more prevalent involvement with the Gator, Outback, and Citrus Bowls.

Texas Bowl

Jan. 4, 2022

Houston, TX at NRG Stadium

Played in the home of the Houston Texans, the Texas Bowl features an SEC versus Big XII matchup. Like the Music City Bowl, the Texas Bowl is drawn more to teams in the SEC West like Arkansas, Texas A&M, and LSU as opposed to the Gamecocks. For that reason, they’ve never made an appearance. Last year’s edition was set to pit Arkansas against TCU, but the game was cancelled due to COVID. With the western tie-ins and the possibility of renewing old rivalries from the Southwest Conference, South Carolina is less likely to earn an invite.
