South Carolina is projected to finish fourth in the SEC East, behind league favorite Florida, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee. Florida (1) and Vanderbilt (6) are both ranked in the top 10 of the preseason polls, while Tennessee will start the year at No. 19, one spot behind the Gamecocks.

In the Western division, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, and Arkansas all rank in the top 15, with the league having a total of nine teams in the preseason polls, the most of any major conference. Clarke has also been selected as a preseason All-American by Collegiate Baseball.

Arkansas led the way with four first-team selections, while Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, LSU, and Ole Miss also had multiple players land on the all-conference teams.
