Two South Carolina football players were named All-SEC by the Associated Press.

Earlier this week, the league’s 14 coaches voted on the first-, second- and freshman- SEC teams, with five Gamecocks earning all-conference recognition. On Wednesday, the Associated Press voted on its All-SEC selections, and two more South Carolina footballers found their names among the league’s top performers.

Kevin Harris, the SEC’s regular season rushing leader, earned first-team all-conference honors after running for 1,138 yards and 15 scores. Harris averaged 113.8 yards a game, and found the endzone in all but two contests.

Harris’ top performance came in a loss to Ole Miss, where he racked up 243 yards and a program record five rushing touchdowns. It was one of two 200+ yard outings for the sophomore, as he closed the year with a 210-yard outburst versus Kentucky.

He became the first Gamecock in program history to lead the Southeastern Conference in rushing, and set a school best 6.2 yard per carry average in the process. It was good to see Harris get the first-team nod after being snubbed as a first-teamer by the coaches, and being left off the Doak Walker semifinalist list.

Kingsley “JJ” Enagbare was also recognized, earning second-team honors. The junior pass rusher totaled six sacks on the year, good for second in the league. He did this despite missing the team’s final two games with an injury.

In eight outings, the defensive end tallied 30 tackles, seven tackles behind the line of scrimmage, and a league-leading three forced fumbles. Enagbare is considered a top 100 prospect by Pro Football Focus for the upcoming NFL Draft, though he’s yet to announce a decision on his future.
