QB

Freshman Luke Doty has been named the starter for the bowl game after taking snaps under center each of the last three games. Collin Hill got the nod in the first eight games, but subpar play led to his benching.

Doty has thrown for 405 yards and two scores this year, and looks to earn his first win under center.

RB

Sophomore Kevin Harris was inserted into the lineup following the injury to Lloyd, and he didn’t disappoint. The tailback won the SEC’s regular season rushing crown, becoming a bright spot on a putrid Carolina offense.

Behind him, freshman Rashad Amos saw a spike in action near the end of the year, totaling 99 yards on 18 carries over the team’s final two games. He’ll be asked to spell Harris in the bowl game.

WR

The Gamecocks lost Randrecous Davis and OrTre Smith early in the year to opt outs. They’ll now be without leading receiver Shi Smith for the bowl game, as he gets ready for a career at the next level.

Wideout Xavier Legette began the year as a starter, but has dealt with inconsistency and injury. South Carolina will now rely on inexperience and youth, with freshmen Ger-Cari Caldwell and Rico Powers likely receiving a bump in playing time. Underclassmen Jalen Brooks, Josh Vann, and Dakereon Joyner will be expected to step up, too.

These five pass catchers have combined for just 31 catches on the season.
