Potential holdovers

There will certainly be a few holdovers from the previous staff, but just how many remains to be seen. Defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson won’t be back, and offensive line coach Eric Wolford just accepted a position at Kentucky. Below are a few names that could be back next year.

OC Mike Bobo

Bobo, as mentioned before, could be held on as co-offensive coordinator to help with the run game should a new OC be hired. Under his watch, Kevin Harris quietly led the SEC in rushing.

LB coach Rod Wilson

Wilson is still very active on social media in regards to the recent recruiting news. The former Gamecock doesn’t seem to be going anywhere following just his first season as the linebackers and special teams assistant.

QB coach Connor Shaw

Shaw was promoted to an on-field role following Will Muschamp’s firing, and the quarterback room seemed to respond positively. It’s looking like he’ll be kept in some capacity, whether that be as a position coach or in his former role of player development.

Up in the air

DL coach Tracy Rocker

RB coach Des Kitchings

Both of these coaches just finished up their first seasons in Columbia. Kitchings’ running back room outperformed the expectation. Rocker has been a successful defensive line coach at a number of stops in the SEC.
