South Carolina football has lost its 2nd commitment in less than a week.

West Florida wide receiver Simeon Price has announced that he is no longer committed to the University of South Carolina following the firing of head coach Will Muschamp. He becomes the second player in the 2021 class to decommit in the last week, joining Rodarius Thomas, who opened his recruitment back up on November 20th.

Price made an announcement on his Twitter page late Monday night detailing his decision.

"I’ve decided to reopen my recruitment. South Carolina will still be a top school for me moving forward."

The Pensacola native originally committed to the Gamecocks over the summer, making his pledge way back on July 1st. He is viewed by 247 Sports as a three-star prospect, and the 73rd best player in the state of Florida.

Price holds offers from big time programs like Arkansas, Cincinnati, Colorado State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas State, Louisville, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, South Florida, Tennessee, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

Price is viewed as an athlete by most recruiting services, and though he was planning on playing receiver with the Gamecocks, he has also garnered attention on the defensive side of the football from Power Five programs. Both Clemson and Tennessee, he says, have been recruiting him to be a member of the secondary.

With Price no longer in the boat, South Carolina’s 2021 recruiting class falls to 50th nationally, just behind Memphis and Iowa State. The class also ranks 12th out of 14 SEC schools.
