The South Carolina football team will be home underdogs vs. Texas A&M.

The South Carolina football team returns to action this Saturday night to take on the No. 7 Texas A&M Aggies in its third consecutive home matchup versus a ranked opponent. The game is set to kick off at 7 PM and will be aired on ESPN. Find out how you can tune in to watch the Gamecocks here.

South Carolina will once again try to pull an upset, as the sportsbooks list the Gamecocks as 7.5 point underdogs.  Will Muschamp and Co. will be hoping for similar results to the last time they played at Williams-Brice Stadium, when they took down No. 15 Auburn by a score of 30-22.

It will be interesting to see who lines up at the quarterback position for South Carolina, as there have been talks of getting reserves Ryan Hilinski and Luke Doty more action throughout the bye week. Transfer Collin Hill has started each of the first five games, but he had his worst performance of the year last week against LSU.

The Aggies will enter the game at 4-1, fresh off a 42-31 defeat of division foe Arkansas. Jimbo Fisher’s group brings the league’s fifth-ranked offense to Columbia, averaing more than 425 yards a contest.

They’ve already taken down the likes of Florida, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt, to go along with that win over the Razorbacks. The only blemish thus far was a 52-24 loss to Alabama back in week two.

The Gamecocks have yet to beat the Aggies since the former Big XII affiliate joined the SEC back in 2014. Last year’s game was close coming out of the halftime intermission, before Texas A&M wore down the Carolina defense with a powerful rushing attack in the second half, rolling to a 30-6 defeat.

The last time the game was played in Columbia, the Gamecocks battled back from an early 16-0 deficit, but ultimately fell 26-23.

South Carolina is 3-2 against the spread so far this season, covering in matchups against Florida, Vanderbilt, and Auburn. We’ll see if they can improve to 4-2 this weekend as they try to get back to .500 on the year.
