5. GAMECOCKS KNOCK OFF TOP 10 OPPONENT

South Carolina pulled this feat last season in Athens with its 20-17 double overtime upset of the third-ranked Georgia Bulldogs. We think they’ll do it again in 2020. The Gamecocks will have plenty of opportunities to do so, as they match up against five of the nation’s top 15 teams next year.

Home meetings against either Georgia, Texas A&M, or Auburn could go the Gamecocks’ way if they catch a team on the right week. Winning a road game against Florida or LSU seems a bit more unlikely, but as we saw last season, it’s certainly not impossible for South Carolina to escape a tough environment with a big victory.
