3. GAMECOCK QBs DOUBLE PASSING TDs TOTALS
Gamecock quarterbacks threw just 12 touchdown passes a season ago. Only 13 teams in the country threw for less, three of whom operate out of a triple option rushing attack in Army, Navy, and Georgia Southern.
Don’t expect the Gamecocks’ numbers to stay that low in 2020. South Carolina should have a few things working in its favor offensively next year. First, the addition of Mike Bobo to the Carolina offense. He’s been a great teacher of quarterbacks going back to his time at Georgia with David Greene, Matt Stafford, and Aaron Murray.
Secondly, the quarterback room will have a heap more experience next season, regardless of who takes the first snap. Ryan Hilinski now has a full season in the SEC under his belt, while transfer Collin Hill has appeared in 18 games over his three-year career. No matter the starter, we expect Gamecock signal callers to reach the 25-touchdown mark in 2020.
