The South Carolina football team looks to make it two in a row vs. Kentucky.

2. Kentucky

Starting strong is obviously important in building momentum, but closing out the year with a strong finish can be just as vital. And the season finale against Kentucky could be a swing game that’s the difference between whether the Gamecocks end the year under .500 or finish with five or six wins.

South Carolina finally ended a five-game skid to the Wildcats in 2019, but Kentucky should return a strong team in 2020 as they look to surprise some folks in the SEC race. And an early December matchup in Lexington is sure to be another grinding defensive battle, with the possibility of some nasty winter weather (snow, anyone?).

The Gamecocks need a win here to keep momentum rolling into the offseason (or postseason, whatever that may look like). A loss likely keeps Will Muschamp on the hot seat heading into 2021.
