What are the most important games on the South Carolina football schedule?

South Carolina is set to start its upcoming season at the end of September, where they’ll begin a slate of ten straight Southeastern Conference matchups. As is the case in most seasons, the overall success of the year could hinge on a few swing games.

In 2019, the Gamecocks dropped some crucial contests versus Missouri, Appalachian State, and Tennessee. A few wins in those toss-ups would’ve turned a 4-8 season into a fourth consecutive bowl trip under Will Muschamp. Instead, the year was in much part a failure, halting the progress made over the head coach’s first three campaigns.

Looking ahead to 2020, what games on the Gamecock slate would be considered the most important? Here, we go through the three most significant contests on the South Carolina schedule as we move closer to the upcoming season.
