The South Carolina football team has met the Clemson Tigers on the field every year since 1909, but that streak looks to be ending in 2020. With the streak ending, we relive some of the most iconic moments from the 100+ year rivalry.

The SEC voted Thursday to move forward with a conference-only slate in 2020, meaning the annual season-ending rivalry matchup between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Clemson Tigers is not likely to be played, breaking a streak of 111 consecutive meetings between the two in-state schools.

The 111 years of competition represented the second-longest uninterrupted rivalry in college football, but now it appears that this will be the first season since 1909 that doesn’t have the Palmetto Bowl on the schedule.

It’s disappointing news for fans of both universities, as football in the state of South Carolina won’t feel the same without the historic matchup, but we still can look back on the series and relive some of its most iconic moments.

Let’s go through the top games, plays, and memories from one of college football’s greatest rivalries.
