The South Carolina football team may have an opportunity to face two ACC foes this year. Who would you like to see on the Gamecocks’ schedule?

The ACC and SEC may be working together to implement a few cross-league matchups between conference affiliates in the 2020 season. The plan would be for each university to play an eight-game league schedule, a number that wouldn’t change from a typical Gamecock slate, and then to add two weeks for SEC versus ACC competition.

There are many pros to the format. First, it saves in-state rivalries between South Carolina and Clemson, Georgia and Georgia Tech, Florida and Florida State, and Kentucky and Louisville. Second, it keeps the league from having to move to a 10-game in-conference schedule.

Having the flexibility to schedule unique out-of-conference contests should provide a little more interest for viewers, and it could cut down on travel costs. A flight from the Texas A&M campus to Columbia is about 1,040 miles, while a bus ride from Georgia Tech to South Carolina’s capital city is just over 200 miles.

Assuming that one game will be held for Clemson, who’s another ACC foe you’d like to see on the South Carolina schedule in 2020?
