South Carolina Football: Ten Best Individual Performance of the Decade
By Jacob Elsey
7. JAKE BENTLEY VS. CLEMSON (2018)
Jake Bentley saw his best single-game performance in his last matchup against the Clemson Tigers. In a 2018 contest in Death Valley, the junior threw for over 500 yards and tossed five touchdowns in a loss to the eventual national champions.
Had the Gamecocks been able to knock the Tigers off, the performance would’ve been a little higher on the list seeing as the 510 passing yards is a South Carolina program record. Unfortunately, the Gamecock offense was stuffed on two separate drives at the goal line and the defense had trouble slowing the Clemson offense in the second half. The Tigers would win 56-35.
Still, it stands as one of the greatest passing displays put on by a Gamecock, and is certainly worthy of a top 10 ranking.
