South Carolina Football: Ten Best Individual Performance of the Decade
By Jacob Elsey
10. MARCUS LATTIMORE VS. UGA (2010)
Marcus Lattimore entered the ’10 game against the Georgia Bulldogs as a relative unknown. The freshman had made his first ever start the week prior versus Southern Mississippi, rushing for a modest 54 yards.
He’d make sure everyone in Williams-Brice Stadium knew his name after this performance, though. Lattimore would tote the rock 37 times against the Bulldogs, totaling 182 yards.
The Duncan, SC native found the endzone twice as the Gamecocks defeated Georgia 17-6. The rushing output was the fourth-highest of Lattimore’s career. He wasn’t done harassing the Bulldogs, as he’d go on to eclipse the century mark in his next two matchups against Georgia, leading the Gamecocks to a three-game series winning streak.
