South Carolina Football: 10 Players that Gamecocks are Glad to See Leave the SEC
By Jacob Elsey
CJ HENDERSON
Henderson is the only player on the list to play on the defensive side of the ball. The first-round draft pick has been a terror for South Carolina quarterbacks, picking off Gamecock passers in two of his three career matchups.
In 2017, Henderson intercepted Jake Bentley in the endzone as the Gamecocks drove for a score, returning the turnover for 25 yards. He also broke up two passes while holding star receiver Bryan Edwards to just three receptions. The following season, he again picked Bentley, and again held Edwards to just three catches.
Henderson wasn’t able to make it a three-peat in 2019, though he did record nine tackles and a sack in the Gators’ 38-27 win. He, along with the rest of the Florida secondary, held the Gamecocks to just 170 passing yards.
South Carolina is happy with his decision to declare early for the NFL draft.
