CITADEL 2015

The 2015 Gamecock season represents the lowest number of wins recorded in a season since Carolina’s 21-game losing streak in the late 90s.

The team got off to a 2-4 start before Steve Spurrier decided to step down as head coach.  Shawn Elliott would assume the role of interim coach for the final six games.  He’d go on to lose five of those six matchups.

The worst loss of the season, though, was a November contest against an FCS opponent.  The Citadel came into Columbia, marched up and down the field with its triple option attack, and emerged with a 23-22 victory.  The Bulldogs ran for 350 yards on the day.

It was Gamecocks’ first loss to an FCS foe in 35 years and represented the lowest point in a forgettable season.
