#5. TORRANCE “CJ” MARABLE

The Gamecocks’ first tall task comes in the season opener against Coastal Carolina and running back CJ Marable.

Marable has spent the last two seasons in Myrtle Beach after transferring from Presbyterian.  He earned first-team Big South honors as a freshman for the Blue Hose, before making the jump to the FBS.  He was named third-team all-conference last year for the Chanticleers and looks to record back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons as he caps off his college career.

As a sophomore in ‘18, Marable ran for 719 yards, averaging over six yards per carry.  He bested that last season by finishing fifth in the Sun Belt Conference with 1,085 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.

Marable is a threat in the passing game, too.  He hauled in 38 receptions and scored three touchdowns out of the backfield in ‘19, and looks to be a player the Chanticleer offense will build around next season.

The Georgia native broke the 95-yard mark in seven games, including a 148-yard performance in Coastal Carolina’s upset win of Kansas, their first ever over a Power Five program.
