TJ Brunson was the fourth and final Gamecock to be selected in the 2020 NFL Draft.  The linebacker was chosen by the New York Giants in the seventh round.  He was the 238th overall pick.

Brunson was a major contributor at South Carolina, totaling 283 tackles over his four-year career.  He was a mainstay in the middle of the Carolina defense, appearing in 43 games.  As a junior, Brunson led the team, and was sixth in the SEC, with 106 tackles.  He was a two-time team captain for head coach Will Muschamp’s squad.

Brunson will join a linebacking crew in need of playmakers.  In fact, the Giants selected linebackers with each of their final three draft picks, including Brunson.  It will be interesting to see where he ends up on the initial depth chart, but he should have an opportunity to make an impact.
