Redshirt junior offensive lineman Summie Carlay has opted to enter the transfer portal.  Carlay will enter as a graduate transfer, making him immediately eligible for the 2020 season.  He will have two years left to play at his new destination.

The Laurens native played in all 12 games last season, mostly on special teams.  Carlay was a member of coach Will Muschamp’s second recruiting class in Columbia.  Out of high school, he was rated as a three-star prospect, and the sixth-best player in the state of South Carolina.  He was deemed the 58th best offensive tackle in the country.

Carlay chose the Gamecocks over offers from Southern Mississippi and North Carolina State.  It is still unknown where he will play the remainder of his college career.
