JAIR BOLDEN DOWNS VIRGINIA

Bolden played his best game of the season when the Gamecocks traveled to Charlottesville to take on the defending national champion Virginia Cavaliers.  South Carolina controlled the game from the start, never trailing after the 19 minute mark in the first half.

Frank Martin’s squad would take a 33-24 lead into halftime behind a game-high 15 points from Bolden.  The Cavs attempted to mount comebacks throughout the second half but were met with Gamecock answers each time.

Virginia tied the game at 45 mid-way through the second half, but Carolina outscored the Cavaliers 25-14 the remainder of the way to secure the 70-59 victory.

Bolden led all scorers with 22, which was his season high in 2019-20.
