KOTSAR SCORES 1,000TH POINT

Forward Maik Kotsar became the 46th player in program history to score 1,000 points over the course of his career.  The feat happened in Tuscaloosa, late in the action of a close battle with the Crimson Tide.

The last remaining member of South Carolina’s 2016-17 team, he joined teammates Sindarius Thornwell, Duane Notice, and Chris Silva as the only USC players to both score1,000 points and play in the Final Four.

The All-SEC selection finished his career with 1,028 total points, which ranks in the top 50 in program history.  As a senior, Kotsar had his most productive season, averaging 11.2 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and shooting at nearly a 50% clip from the field.
