ARKANSAS

The Gamecocks traveled to Bud Walton Arena to take on an Arkansas team that had taken the conference by storm.  The Razorbacks won their first eight games of the season, and entered the contest at 15-4.

South Carolina, winners of three of its previous four, were looking for another signature road win after taking down Clemson and Virginia earlier in the year.

It was a strange game, one in which Carolina never trailed, but also never put Arkansas away.  They led by six at the half behind 10 points from AJ Lawson.  The Razorbacks would storm out of the gates in the second half, tying the game at 40 just two minutes in, but a Justin Minaya triple on the next possession would give the Gamecocks a lead they’d not relinquish.

South Carolina would build that lead to as many as nine, but Arkansas pulled back to within two in the final minute.  On their final possession, Razorbacks guard Isaiah Joe threw up a three from the corner hoping to give Arkansas the lead and the win, but it bounced harmlessly off the rim as time expired.  The ‘Cocks were building momentum as they looked to make a postseason push.
