MAIK KOTSAR’S SENIOR NIGHT

In his final game at Colonial Life Arena, Maik Kotsar would put on one of his best performances of the year.  The big man scored a team-high 20 points, leading the Gamecocks to an 83-71 win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Kotsar shot 41% on a season-high 22 attempts.  It came just one game after scoring his 1,000th career point.

Originally from Estonia, Kotsar was able to play this game in front of family, as his parents made the trip to Columbia to witness the senior’s final home game.

The last remaining member of South Carolina’s historic Final Four team, Kotsar wrapped up his career with 1,028 points and 668 rebounds.  A four-year starter, he led the Gamecocks in minutes, rebounds, steals, and blocks in his final season on his way to 2nd Team All-SEC honors.
