DARIAN STEWART (DB)

Stewart is still on the free agent market following a year with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  The 10-year vet has played for four different squads, and was a Super Bowl champion with the Denver Broncos in 2015.  He followed up his Super Bowl season with an All-Pro year and represented the AFC in the 2016 Pro Bowl after recording 68 tackles and three interceptions.

Stewart was picked up by the St. Louis Rams after going undrafted in 2010, where he spent his first four seasons.  Following a short stay in Baltimore, he became a part of the Broncos’ “No Fly Zone” in 2015 joining teammates Chris Harris, Jr., Aqib Talib, and TJ Ward.

Stewart played for the Gamecocks from 2006-2009 under coach Steve Spurrier.  He recorded 197 total tackles from his safety position, while adding three forced fumbles and two interceptions.  One of his most memorable moments came in the Gamecocks’ 2009 upset of No. 4 Ole Miss, where he made two huge stops on the Rebels’ final drive to secure a South Carolina win.  This game ended up being the birth of ‘Sandstorm,’ which now plays at every football game.
