BRYAN EDWARDS (WR)

Edwards was the Gamecocks’ best offensive weapon in the 2019 season, and QB Ryan Hilinksi’s favorite target.  Filling the void left by Deebo Samuel’s departure, Edwards led the team in catches (71), yards (816), and touchdowns (6), on his way to being named second-team All SEC.

Here’s what NFL analysts had to say about Edwards:

"“Consistently productive, four-year starter with size to fight for tight-window throws and speed to challenge over the top. Edwards is capable of eluding press for quick releases into routes and strong enough to fight back against grabby coverage at the top of the route. His quick acceleration creates early vertical windows for quarterbacks, but he needs to get better at bodying up and controlling the 50/50 catch space. While he should be able to polish up his route-running, the hands may always be hit or miss. He’s a projectable “HWS” (height-weight-speed) prospect with WR2/WR3 potential.” – Lance Zierlein"

Edwards was a 4-year starter at South Carolina, finishing with 234 receptions, 3045 receiving yards, and 22 TDs.  He graduated as the school’s all-time leader in receptions and receiving yardage.  He’s also one off the lead in TD receptions, set by Alshon Jeffery and Sidney Rice.  Edwards is projected as a Day 2 pick in this year’s draft.
