Former University of South Carolina second baseman Justin Row was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in December of last year.  At the time of his diagnosis, he had been overseas, continuing to pursue a professional baseball career in Australia.

Forced to return to his home state of California, Row began treatment to combat the illness.  On Monday, he shared some awesome news on social media.  After three months of chemotherapy, he is in remission.

Row transferred to South Carolina after a two-year stint in the junior college ranks at Fullerton College.  He started 64 games as a Gamecock, hitting .331 with 17 doubles, 1 triple, 9 HRs and 34 RBIs.

As a senior, he paced the team in hitting, batting .347 while helping the Gamecocks make a run to the Super Regionals.

As mentioned in his post, there is still more treatment to come for Row, but this was certainly a positive step.  Gamecock Nation wishes him well as he continues his recovery process.
