South Carolina football got a win in Oxford behind the stellar play of quarterback Jake Bentley.

The South Carolina football Gamecocks pulled out a massive win against Ole Miss on Saturday. Finally, we got the offense that we all thought was possible.

It was absolutely amazing to watch what could be when the offense is firing on all cylinders. Bentley played his best game as the Gamecock’s signal caller. Bentley finished the game completing 22 of 32 passes for 363 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added a rushing touchdown that would eventually be the game winner, late in the fourth quarter.

For as many up and down performances Bentley has had during his time at South Carolina, it speaks volumes that he can rise up and play at this level. Many have been critical of his play, myself included, but praise needs to be given where praise is due. This type of play out of Bentley is exactly what South Carolina football fans have been longing for.

Not to be outdone by the performance of Bentley, Mon Denson also put together the best game of his Gamecock’s career. Denson was called upon due to numerous injuries at the running back position.

Denson ran with his chance at extended playing time, literally. He finished with 102 yards on 12 carries, his career high. Head Coach Will Muschamp has maintained that all of the running backs, who have seen significant playing time, are starters. The assumption is that whoever is healthy and has the hot hand, or legs rather, will be the one getting the most playing time.

It will be interesting to see if the Gamecocks can come out against Florida the way they did against Ole Miss. They have been slow starters a majority of the season, however that was different on Saturday.

This offense can be an absolute juggernaut if it is performing at this level. Can Bentley play this well week to week? We shall see as a date with the Florida Gators is upcoming. Hopefully we are in-store for another huge game out of the Gamecock’s offense.
