The 2019 South Carolina Gamecocks’ football schedule was released Tuesday. The big highlight, the Gamecocks will host the defending National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide in an early September match-up.

This will mark the first time South Carolina has played Alabama since the 2010 season. As many of you may recall, that game saw the Gamecocks upset the number 1 team in the country. That game was also held at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, SC.

This is the tweet sent out by Gamecock Football when the schedule was released Tuesday afternoon:

Other highlights of the schedule

The first game of the season pits the South Carolina Gamecocks against the North Carolina Tar heels, in Charlotte.

The first home game will see the Gamecocks take on Charleston Southern on September 7th.

The other SEC West opponent that South Carolina will face in 2019 is the Texas A&M Aggies. That game is scheduled to take place on November 16th at Kyle Field in College Station. That will be the final away game of the season for the Gamecocks.

Finally, the Gamecocks will finish the 2019 regular season by hosting their arch-rival, the Clemson Tigers. That game is set for November 30th, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

At this point in time, the 2019 schedule does seem favorable to the Gamecocks. Aside from playing in Athens against the Georgia Bulldogs, almost all of the tough games the Gamecocks will play will be in the comfort of home, in front of the South Carolina fans at Williams-Brice Stadium.
