3. South Carolina Basketball Upsets Duke to Advance to Sweet 16

The 2-seeded Blue Devils were a favorite to win the National Championship going into the tournament. Many people thought after the Gamecocks win over Marquette they would be content with their NCAA tournament win and they would get crushed by Duke. However, the Gamecocks had different plans.

South Carolina came back from a 7 point half time deficit to defeat Duke and advance to the first Sweet 16 in program history. This win really put the team on the map and showed the world they were for real.
