5. South Carolina Basketball Sets Program Attendance Record
The Gamecocks season attendance totaled 241,126. It was the highest in program history and the 13th highest in the nation. This impressive number shows that basketball has officially arrived in Columbia. South Carolina fans finally bought in on the success of the basketball team, which means good things for years to come.
Coach Frank Martin took notice. He tweeted this in response to a hater who said “who cares” about South Carolina basketball:
