2. Sindarius Thornwell Gets Chosen as a First Team All American and SEC POTY

Still can’t believe this actually happened.

A player who was recognized as one of the nation’s bests by his own fan base got the recognition he deserved from the rest of the country. All year it was evident to anybody who watched the team play that without Thornwell they just weren’t that great. He led the team on both sides of the ball and always came up with a big play when his team needed him.

Thornwell was not even the favorite to win SEC Player of the Year. He was consistently being undervalued. Then, not only did he end up with SEC POTY, but he also led his team on a historic run and earned himself a spot as a top player in America. Thornwell had the greatest season in South Carolina basketball history and was rewarded with a First Team All American selection.

His draft and NBA future is unclear, but Sindarius Thornwell will always be remembered as the greatest player to ever don a South Carolina basketball uniform.
