South Carolina Football: 5 Possible replacements for Steve Spurrier

Kirby Smart has been the defensive coordinator at Alabama the past seven seasons. Smart has been one of the biggest reasons the Crimson Tide have had such a consistent amount of success and a run that includes three national championship. Smart is also one of the best recruiters across the Nation with him consistently bringing in 5 star players and developing them into NFL stars.

Smart has been assistant coach of the year twice and has shown he knows how to coach an elite defense. He earns $1.3 million a year which is far less to Steve Spurrier’s $4 Million he made a year at South Carolina. Smart has let it be known that he wants to be a head coach somewhere and with that much of a pay increase along with staying in the SEC you have to think the possibility of Smart landing in South Carolina is really good.
