South Carolina vs. LSU: 5 Players who need to step up

Perry Orth
According to The State beat writer Josh Kendall, quarterback Perry Orth is going to be the starter this Saturday against LSU. Check out Josh’s tweet about what the Head Ball Coach had to say regarding the starting quarterback for this Saturday,
In the first five games this season, Orth went 23-47 for 283 yards, on touchdown and two interceptions. With those kind of stats it is evident that Orth really needs to step up against a good LSU defense.
Orth needs to make sure he doesn’t try to do much when there is nothing there on a play. He needs to stay accurate with his throws and take what the defense gives him. When Lorenzo Nunez started last Saturday at Missouri, we saw that Nunez would pass up on the easy pass four yards off the line of scrimmage for a receiver who was 20 yards down the field with two defenders on them. The Gamecocks need Orth to play a smarter than than that against LSU.
The junior QB also has good enough athleticism to scramble out of the pocket and more than likely he will need to do that several times against the Tigers. A big part to Perry stepping up this week is going to come with him getting help from his receivers, especially from a player who could be heading off to the NFL Draft after this season.
