On Wednesday October 7, South Carolina athletic director Ray Tanner announced to the media that the Gamecocks would move the location of their game this Saturday to Baton Rouge. With the Gamecocks losing their home field advantage this makes it even more crucial that all the players and coaches step up to give us a chance to upset the No. 7 ranked LSU Tigers.
Playing LSU has never been easy for South Carolina, with the record favoring the Tigers in the series 17-1-2. LSU holds the current streak with five wins between 2002-2012. LSU’s largest victory was 42-0 in 1961 while the Gamecocks largest victory over the Tigers came in 1930 where they won 7-6.
I said that all the players need to step up because as we all know football is a team sport but there is specific players that I think need to step up to give the Gamecocks the best chance to win this weekend. With that being said let’s start with my first player on my list that need to step up this Saturday for the Gamecocks is the new starting quarterback for the second time this season Perry Orth.
