The South Carolina football season isn’t over yet, and there are still some very winnable games on the schedule for the Gamecocks.
The South Carolina Gamecocks have had a drop off in production from their players and coaches this season which shows with their 2-3 record. After the North Carolina win many Gamecock fans expected South Carolina to build momentum and beat Kentucky, which unfortunately turned out to be false hope, with the Gamecocks loosing 26-22. Spurrier’s team went on to lose to Georgia, beat UCF and then give up another loss this past Saturday to Missouri.

With the heavy rainfall and flooding that hit Columbia this past week, you have to think the Gamecocks are at an even bigger disadvantage going into their game this Saturday against SEC opponent LSU. South Carolina will have to play a 4-0 LSU team that has a once in a lifetime running back in Leonard Fournette, who is already predicted by many to be the Heisman Trophy winner for this season.
The Gamecocks are still struggling to find receivers who can get open, a run game, and a defense that has seemed to be missing in action for the past two seasons. Steve Spurrier and the other coaches just seem to be going through the notions, not showing any rage or spark of fire that’s needed to show fans things can get better this season.
Jon Hoke and Spurrier seem to just give the media half way answers that are almost the coaches equivalent of Marshawn Lynch‘s “I’m just here so i don’t get fined” circus act that he played with the media last season.
Despite the lack of enthusiasm shown from the coaches about making changes and adjustments to make sure we win some games this season; the Gamecock fan in me is telling me that there is still hope to win more games than what realistically is more likely to happen which ends in South Carolina finishing the season with three to four wins. Let’s look at some games that I still see winnable for the Gamecocks this season.
