Florida decided to get out of the Will Muschamp era and usher in the Jim McElwain era in the Swamp. Florida has been kind to South Carolina in recent years as the Gamecocks have won 2 straight and 4 of the last 5 games against the Gators. This season, the Gators will be in Columbia to face the Gamecocks on November 14.

So far this season, the Gators have blown out New Mexico State, and squeaked by East Carolina and Kentucky. The Gators are rotating quarterbacks to begin the season. Will Grier has been pretty good at quarterback completing 67.9% of his passes for 440 yards, 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions, while adding on 114 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns. Treon Harris is the other quarterback Florida has started but has been suspended for the Tennessee game this weekend.
The Gators defense has looked pretty good against lesser opponents. So, why do I have them losing to the Gamecocks?
As impressive as the Gators looked in the first two games, their offense was shut down by Kentucky. Florida is not a bad team at all. They are always loaded with talent. The problem is they haven’t consistently won with the talent they have.
Spurrier is always looking for a way to beat his alma mater, and this year he may just have to pull out all the stops, especially if it is his final season on the sideline with the Gamecocks. He also seems to have the Gators number recently. With this game being a must win for South Carolina and the recent games being so close, I think the Gamecocks will show up and win a thriller in Williams-Brice Stadium.
