Jordan Diggs was rated a 3-star recruit in the class of 2012 according to the 247Sports Composite. He was ranked the number 27 safety in the class and committed to South Carolina over offers from Michigan State, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Nebraska, and others.

Diggs saw early playing time in 2012 recording 5 tackles including 1 for a loss before sitting out the rest of the season with a calf strain and petitioning for a medical redshirt. In 2013, he was the back-up at the Spur position. He recorded 25 tackles, including 4 for a loss.

In 2014, Diggs was named Most Improved Spur after spring practice. He played in all 13 games, starting 2 of them. He recorded 37 tackles and tied for the team lead in sacks with 2. He was second on the team with 5 tackles for a loss.

During the Spring, Diggs was moved from Spur to safety. He earned Most Improved Safety honors during the spring, and came into fall camp competing for the starting strong safety spot with DJ Smith. Smith was the favorite to start coming into camp, but Diggs continued to shine eventually earning the start against North Carolina. Diggs is also a two-time member of the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
