KC Crosby, Kyle Markway, Connor Redmond, and Hayden Hurst
KC Crosby joined South Carolina in the class of 2014. He was a 4-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite and the 10th ranked tight end in the class. He chose the Gamecocks over offers from Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia, and basically every other school.
Crosby is undersized for the tight end position and many schools recruited him as a linebacker. He wanted to play on offense, though, which led him to South Carolina. Crosby is on the scout team for now.
Kyle Markway was a 3-star rated recruit and joined the Gamecocks in the class of 2015. He may see some playing time this season due to his size, but will obviously still need to master the playbook. He chose South Carolina over offers from Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana.
Connor Redmond is another 3-star rated recruit that joined the Gamecocks in the 2015 recruiting class. He chose the Gamecocks over offers from Louisville, Virginia, Purdue, and others. Redmond has been sidelined during fall practice due to injury. At this point, it seems he may be headed for a redshirt year.
Hayden Hurst is a 22 year old walk on that spent the past 3 years of his life playing professional baseball. Hurst was watching his baseball career stall out, and decided it was time to go to college. He called up his childhood friend Perry Orth, and now is at South Carolina. He has turned some heads during fall practice and has been competing to be Adams back up.
