Mon Denson

Mon Denson may be able to take a redshirt year this season due to the depth at the running back position. He was rated a 3-star running back in the 247Sports Composite and was ranked the number 46 running back in the nation in the 2015 class. He chose South Carolina over offers from Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin and many others. Many of the schools were recruiting Denson as a defensive back, however.

Do not let the ranking fool you. Denson camped at USC and left the coaches feeling impressed earning a scholarship offer as a running back from them. He appears to be a bigger back weighing 225 pounds and still has good speed.

AJ Turner

AJ Turner came in with Denson in the class of 2015. He was also a 3-star recruit and ranked the number 36 running back in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite. Turner chose the Gamecocks over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Virginia Tech, and many more.

Considered a speedy shifty running back, he is unlikely to find much playing time at the running back position this season. However, he has already caught the eye of the coaches on special teams where he may return kickoffs.
