USC Gamecocks Football countdown has officially begun with excitement preparing for 2015/2016 season. I decided to spotlight Bryson Allen Williams and when asked what was the best thing about playing for South Carolina, he simply replied “The Fans”.

In Willams Senior season of high school football, his Cedar Grove Saints went 7-5, reaching the second round of AAA state playoffs. He earned Class AAA second-team all-state honors by the Georgia Sportswriters. Also earned a spot on the AJC’s Class AAA All-Metro squad… played in the U.S. Army All-America Bowl in San Antonio, Texas following his senior season. He collected 99 tackles with 22 tackles for loss including 16 sacks, three fumble recoveries and an interception as a junior. Bryson was an AT&T Georgia Junior Bowl selection… recorded 64 tackles as a sophomore. Rivals.com considered him a four-star prospect, the sixth-best outside linebacker in the nation, No. 103 overall, and the 28th-best player in the state of Georgia. He was the second pick for the South Carolina Gamecocks 2014 draft class according to gamecocksonline.com

In all this excitement, I had the pleasure of speaking with South Carolina Gamecock defensive end Bryson Allen Williams, and his Proud Mom Darnisha Allen-Jackson.

Mother of Bryson, Darnisha Allen-Jackson  had this to say about her rising star son.

“Bryson is such a great guy to be around. He has such a joyous and warm spirit. When I’m feeling down he’ll say something that just makes you feel better. He’s like that every day. He’s not pretentious or phony. He’s just legitimately good. I’m blessed to be his mom and a better person for it.”

It was an absolute joy to talk with Bryson and his Mom, a big thank you to both of them. So proud of him and looking forward to a great season for the Gamecocks. Bryson left me with this Quote.
