South Carolina Gamecocks offensive  lineman Donell Stanley starting his sophomore year at USC is excited for this 2015 football season. according to Stanley “determined”.

I had the pleasure to speak with Donell and honored that we got to chat on his birthday.

Stanley originally from Floydale, South Carolina signed with the Gamecocks in 2014, considered a four star prospect. He is looking forward to a productive year with the Gamecocks.

What is your Most memorable moment at USC ?

DS: ” Beating UGA in 2015. ”

What is your goal for 2015 ?

DS: ” To have a great season of football and to continue to do well in the classroom. ”

What is the best thing about being at USC ?

DS: ” The people, from coaches, teachers, teammates and classmates.”

Who’s you biggest inspiration ?Why?

DS: ” Shaquille O’Neal…Because of his success and sense of humor.”

Prior to South Carolina, the Latta High School offensive lineman and the Vikings went 7-4 in 2013 under head coach Kelly Williamson… was a finalist for the South Carolina “Mr. Football” award… earned a spot on the statewide all-state team as selected by the High School Sports Report… played in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas following his senior season… also played basketball and baseball… played for the baseball state title as a junior… Rivals.com considers him a four-star prospect, the 10th-best player in the state and the 16th-best offensive guard in the nation… Scout.com ranks him as a four-star prospect, the sixth-best offensive guard in the country and No. 105 overall… considered a four-star prospect, the fourth-best player in the state, the fifth-best offensive guard in the nation and the 121st-best player overall according to 247Sports.com… ESPN considers him a four-star prospect, the 14th-best offensive guard in the nation, No. 214 on the ESPN300 list and the seventh-best player in the state… ranked by PrepStar as a four-star prospect and No. 213 on the Top 300 All-American Team… was a member of the National Honor Society… selected South Carolina over Clemson.

Stanley added his favorite hobbies are hunting and fishing and simply stated, ” If you can’t reach me…I’m gone fishing.”  Looking forward to see what this Gamecock can reel in this season.
