Gamecocks vs. East Carolina: Pregame Roundtable Predictions

The guys have their picks in for tomorrow’s game between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the ECU Pirates. Despite everyone picking Carolina last week (and being proven dead wrong), the consensus across the board is that it will be a bounce back game in which they’ll move to 1-1. Let us know what you think: in the comment section below, on Facebook or on Twitter.

Sydney Hunte: Regardless of the result of the Texas A&M game, I think the staff would have warned the Gamecocks to not look past ECU to next week against Georgia. Now that they’re 0-1, they definitely can’t look past the Pirates, or their already dim playoff hopes will be completely wiped out. I’ll have to pick the Gamecocks in this one because while Mike Davis won’t be at full strength, the receiving corps will do their part to put up points and yardage needed for a victory.

Chris Carey: I think the Gamecocks are going to play with a chip on their shoulder as they all feel they have something to prove after last week. I think the offense will roll, and although I don’t think defense will look great, they’ll do enough to win.

Brad Leitszey: The Gamecock D will come out playing stronger than in game one, slowly playing better as the game goes on. ECU’s talent doesnt quite match A&M’s but they can get the job done. ECU will dink and dunk as much as they can early to build offensive confidence. USC must get the running game going one way or another, whether it’s Mike Davis or Cooper in the wildcat. Look for South Carolina to play ECU close around half time and slowly pull away for a 10-17 point win.

Tradd Jones: Big-time confidence week. A big win and big defensive game setting up the showdown next weekend.
